Tag Team Turmoil Match Added To WWE Elimination Chamber 2017
Smackdown Tag Titles on the line!
John Cena won't be the only champion defending his title against multiple contenders at Elimination Chamber. Smackdown Tag Team Champions American Alpha will be putting their belts on the line at the show against five other tandems in a tag team turmoil bout.
The impetus for the match came at Tuesday's Smackdown, when the reigning champions acknowledged that nobody has taken a run at them since they last defeated The Wyatt Family. In response to their downtime, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan headed out to the ring and made an open challenge. It was immediately answered by The Usos, but they were followed by The Ascension, The Vaudevillains, Breezango, and inaugural Smackdown Tag Team Champions Rhyno and Heath Slater. All six teams starting brawling in the ring, with American Alpha and Rhyno and Slater as the last tandems standing.
On Talking Smack, Smackdown general manager Daniel Bryan booked the gauntlet-style match, though he gave no indication as to what the order of entry would be. Still, the champions may have an advantage - in November, they won a tag team turmoil bout over most of the same teams.
Elimination Chamber airs live on the WWE Network on February 12 at 8:00 PM ET.
