The AoP are history.

The Authors of Pain's - sorry, the AoP's - short reign with the Raw tag team titles has been consigned to the history books, after they were overturned by Bobby Roode and Chad Gable in Raw's 2-against 3 opening contest last night.

Gable and Roode, now wearing rather fetching matching gear, withstood a super-collider from Akam and Rezar before Roode rolled up manager Drake Maverick for an easy victory. Pretty embarrassing for the outgoing champs, but hey, at least Maverick didn't p*ss himself this time.

The win means Gable now joins former American Alpha teammate Jason Jordan in having won the grand slam of NXT, Raw and SmackDown tag team championships. Not bad for a guy WWE seem to have drastically wasted since he moved to the main roster. The gold is Roode's second taste of main-roster glory, having already warmed his waist with the US title last year (if you can possible remember that).

At present, the Raw Tag Team Championship is not scheduled to be defended at this Sunday's TLC PPV, which could help explain why it was made into such a prominent story on a show desperate for a ratings boost.
