With Tampa Bay, Florida having had to miss out on this past weekend’s WrestleMania 36 due to the event taking place at the WWE Performance Center, it looks as if the Showcase of the Immortals could be heading to the city in 2022.

Any city hosting a WrestleMania is guaranteed a huge boost to their local economy, with thousands of wrestling fans from across the globe travelling to check out the Granddaddy of Them All. That means that hotels, restaurants, bars, stores, and pretty much any form of local business sees a major spike in income over WrestleMania weekend – and so it’s understandable there’s always stiff competition as to which city ‘gets’ ‘Mania.

For some perspective, the numbers for WrestleMania 35 show that wrestling fans spent a whopping $165 million during their stay in New York and New Jersey for last year’s edition of WWE’s Superbowl.

WrestleMania 37 has already been confirmed to emanate from Inglewood, California’s SoFi Stadium, with Tampa Bay officials clearly keen to snatch up the Showcase of the Immortals for 2022.
