Taz Signs With AEW
The Human Suplex Machine is All Elite.
Many have long been expecting this news, but Taz has now officially signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling.
Previously, the Human Suplex Machine has provided commentary on AEW Dark, and some thought that this may have been part of a feeling out process for both parties. And as soon as Taz announced earlier today that his Taz Show podcast was being put on indefinite hold, it came as no real surprise to see that later followed up by the news that the former ECW World Champion has agreed a multiple-year contract with AEW.
In addition to AEW Dynamite, yesterday’s new deal between AEW and WarnerMedia means that AEW Dark will eventually become its own weekly TV show rather than simply being a YouTube presentation. It’s likely with this in mind, that Taz has been brought in to help boost the commentators available to AEW.
Going forward, this means that AEW now has Taz, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Alex Marvez, and Goldenboy on their books where the announce booth is concerned.
As injuries began to take their toll on his in-ring future, Taz’s commentary career started to take shape in 2002. From ’02 through until April 2009, the real-life Peter Senercia would work as a full-time commentator on WWE programming – before he then embarked on a six-year stint at the TNA announce booth.
Since 2015, Taz has kept well away from the announce desk bar his recent AEW Dark work.
