Tessa Blanchard To Debut At WWE Evolution 2?
Rumours suggests free agent to make impact at possible show.
Rumours abound that WWE are set to revive their all-women Evolution pay-per-view as a complement to this August's SummerSlam, and further tattle suggests a certain high-profile free agent may make her debut (technically, re-debut) at the proposed show.
According to PW Unlimited, former Impact champion Tessa Blanchard - who has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford - could emerge at Evolution 2, should it go ahead.
Blanchard was dramatically released from Impact last month, with the promotion apparently worried she'd no-show her championship defence at Slammiversary. Blanchard's contract was set to expire anyway, and there has since been speculation that the company chose to make an example out of her.
The Wrestling Observer have reported that WWE are eager to sign the free agent, who previously competed in their Mae Young Classic back in 2017. Prior to that, she made a handful of appearances for NXT, losing to Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, and Carmella.
A proposed Evolution 2 pay-per-view is slated for 30 August, a week after SummerSlam 2020. The first show under the banner was held in October 2018, and saw Ronda Rousey defeat Nikki Bella in the night's main event.
