The Miz is your new WWE Champion, having defeated Drew McIntyre by successfully cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase to close last night's Elimination Chamber 2021 pay-per-view.

This came following McIntyre's triumph in the titular Raw match. Drew pinned AJ Styles with an incredible Claymore counter as Styles attempted a Phenomenal Forearm, leaving the gruelling structure with his title reign intact, though he was soon jumped by The Hurt Business' Bobby Lashley.

Lashley, who had dropped the United States Title to Riddle earlier in the evening, softened McIntyre up for Miz to pick the bones clean. A single DDT and Skull Crushing Finale were all it took for The A-Lister to score the win over a weakened McIntyre.

Thus begins Miz's second run with the WWE Championship. His last started all the way back in November 2010, when he defeated Randy Orton by cashing in a Money in the Bank contract on Raw, eventually dropping the strap to John Cena in an Extreme Rules 2011 Triple Threat also featuring John Morrison.

McIntyre's second run with the WWE Title ended after 98 days. What direction WWE will take the belt heading into WrestleMania 37 remains to be seen.
