The OC Invade NXT
AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson strike back for the WWE main roster.
The OC became the first main roster stars to appear on NXT since the black-and-gold brand were announced as part of this year's Survivor Series.
AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson made waves before the show even hit the air, attacking The Undisputed Era during a backstage promo. Pleased with their handiwork, the trio made their way into Full Sail University to open the show proper with a scathing attack on the building, the brand, and the crew's chances of winning at Survivor Series.
It all built to an explosive six-man tag team main event pitting The OC against Tommaso Ciampa, Matt Riddle and Keith Lee that descended into chaos as Adam Cole and Finn Bálor got in on the act with attacks kept specific to their NXT rivals rather than giving thought to the ongoing main roster rivalry.
WWE will likely consider this year's Survivor Series civil war a significant creative success after two enlivened editions of both Raw and SmackDown and yet another quality edition of NXT. Though it remains unclear as usual why all of the men and women are so fussed about "brand supremacy", the action has been of such a high standard that they may get away without an explanation yet again.
