Who will win at Double Or Nothing?

Not the most complex question ever asked about a major wrestling match, but surely the most important one when considering the ramifications of a title fight. Hangman Page Vs CM Punk is almost the polar opposite of Page's match and story with Kenny Omega in that exists only for the belt currently strapped around the cowboy's waist.

Omega's quest to win the title was cold and calculated when it wasn't being obscured by a makeshift relationship with Page. In contrast, Punk has been completely upfront about his intentions and eventual intent. After gesturing with his hands that he wanted the prize (and having won enough matches to justify the shot), he squared up to Page on the ramp as a graphic of the belt itself fortuitously flashed up behind the pair of them.

It was made official the following week as Punk again found himself out in front of the audience, but the Champion couldn't be there too. Page was observing covid protocol, giving Punk the opportunity to cut an improvised promo to the crowd and camera pledging to fight until the "wheels fell off" that stopped crucially short of guaranteeing a victory.

This was important, particularly considering the promotion in question. AEW books for everybody in theory, but often in practice it's mostly for plugged-in millennials. Most of those understand key and basic tenets of pro wrestling, and babyface Punk promising victory then breaking that promise could be disastrous. By those metrics, Page will retain in Vegas.

For the first time ever, it's not that simple.
