The Revival Arrive On WWE Raw
Former NXT Tag Team Champions attack The New Day.
As always, the Raw after WrestleMania played host to a major debut when NXT talent was called up to the main roster. In this case it was The Revival - two-time NXT Tag Team Champions Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson - who answered an open challenge from The New Day.
The two teams immediately engaged in a match, with Big E and Xavier Woods representing The New Day. The newcomers were successful, pinning Woods with the Shatter Machine to end an exciting contest. After the match, though, they continued the attack, laying out Kofi Kingston with an assault on his leg.
The Revival first debuted in NXT in 2014, originally teaming up as The Mechanics and becoming a regular presence on TV the following year. Though many fans considered them an unproven commodity when they upset The Vaudevillains for the brand's tag team titles, they quickly showed themselves to be an excellent tandem. They would lose the belts to American Alpha at NXT TakeOver: Dallas, but reclaim them in their rematch, becoming the only team to hold the NXT Tag Team Championships on two separate occasions.
