The Revival Send Out AEW Hint On WWE Raw

Was Scott Dawson's gear more than a coincidence?

There was a subtle point of interest during Monday Night Raw's tag-team lumberjack match pitting champions Bobby Roode & Chad Gable opposite The Revival. The rear of Scott Dawson's trunks were very clearly emblazoned with the acronym '#FTR' in font that's likely to be very familiar to fans of Being The Elite.

What does this mean? For those who haven't kept up with The Young Bucks' popular YouTube series, the initialism stands for "F*ck the Revival", a running joke by Matt and Jack dating back to 2017, over the WWE duo making claims to be the best tag team in the business.

The hashtag appearing on Dawson's backside this week is not insignificant. The superb tandem, having been largely wasted by WWE since their main roster call-up, have been heavily linked with a migration to the recently formed AEW. The upstart wrestling promotion, founded by Being The Elite members Cody and The Bucks, is set to host a press conference in Jacksonville, FL tomorrow, with talent expected to be announced for the venture.

It's worth pointing out that The Revival previously addressed the #FTR trend way back in 2017, smartly attempting to re-contextualise it as 'Forever the Revival'. However, the timing of it appearing on their gear seems just a little too coincidental. It could be nothing. We'll see.
