The Rise & Fall Of TNA | Wrestling Timelines

12. October 3, 2013 | Leave The Memories Alone

Hogan is gone, but because he has contractual creative control, he leaves the promotion without putting anybody over and casting himself as a sexual demigod. TNA really is a glorified WCW jump scare.

In a bleak scene, Dixie Carter - who took longer than expected to install herself as an onscreen character, in fairness - asks Hogan if he wants to “take a ride on the Dixie train”. Hogan refuses the offer to become a power couple. When he quits, and retreats up the ramp, Carter grabs him by the leg and clings on for dear life. She is made to look pathetic. Given that she hired Hogan to begin with, when this sort of thing was considered a guarantee by anybody with even a surface-level knowledge of pro wrestling, she probably deserves it.
