The Rock Confirms WWE WrestleMania 32 Appearance

Is he wrestling on the show?

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has revealed on Instagram today that he will be making an appearance at WrestleMania 32. The former 8 time WWE Champion confirmed that he would be there to help WWE set an all-time attendance record at the AT&T Stadium and electrify Dallas like never before. It should be noted that The Rock didn't claim that he would be wrestling at the event and unless things have dramatically changed, the situation doesn't look like he will, at least not in a significant way. As it is well known, the original plan was for The Rock to square off against old time rival Triple H but once The Rock signed on to do the Baywatch movie along with Furious 8, the chances of him wrestling due to scheduling and insurance reasons made it look impossible. It is of course possible that WWE and Johnson have struck a deal with the movie studio and insurance company to allow The Rock to do a program for WrestleMania (and certainly WWE could do with striking such a deal and may have gone all out to make it happen) but the smart money at this point is Dwayne Johnson appearing in a cameo that wouldn't require him to wrestle.

As an aside, it was rumoured a few days ago that WWE were eyeing Florida as a possible destination for WrestleMania 33. The timing feels plausible for WWE to return to the sunshine state after holding the event there in 2008 and 2012 and an official announcement at next month's Royal Rumble, which takes place in Orlando, would make a lot of sense. If we're playing devil's advocate on that info, could it be possible The Rock appears at this year's WrestleMania to setup a potential match at WrestleMania 33 that, with it being in Florida again, could also hold his Hall Of Fame induction? Is that why both the Florida rumour and The Rock confirming an appearance at this year's Mania has occurred so close together? Whilst you think about that, WWE.com confirmed The Rock's announcement for an appearance at Mania 33;
The Grandest Stage of Them All will now feature The Most Electrifying Man in Entertainment. The Rock announced today on Instagram that he will be in Dallas for WrestleMania when The Showcase of the Immortals takes over the AT&T Center on Sunday, April 3, 2016. The Great One memorably dropped by last year€™s WrestleMania, held at Levi€™s® Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., where he and UFC sensation Ronda Rousey cleared the ring of Triple H & Stephanie McMahon. What will The Rock have in store for the WWE Universe this April? Taking place in the home of the Dallas Cowboys, WrestleMania 32 is expected to host the largest crowd in sports-entertainment history. WrestleMania will air live on the award-winning WWE Network, and tickets for the huge event are available now at ticketmaster.com.
