The Rock Recalls Blood Vessels Being Damaged In His Lungs Because Of This WWE Star
One particularly stiff suplex caused quite a bit of damage to one of WWE's brightest lights.
The Rock once suffered damaged blood vessels in his lungs thanks to none other than UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock.
'The Great One' and 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' famously went to war with each other on numerous occasions throughout the late-'90s. However, as revealed in a recent Instagram post from 'The People's Champion', things once got particularly physical between the two.
According to The Rock, during the match that he posted a graphic picture from, he took a rather stiff suplex from his rival which resulted in him damaging blood vessels in his lungs. Blood began to pour out of 'The Brahma Bull's mouth, but the future Hollywood megastar kept himself composed and focused on his breathing.
Poking fun at his frequently violent opponent, Rocky also confessed that Shamrock boasted a look on his face in the photo that said "f*ck your bleeding lungs" as he yanked at the star's endangered ankle.
The full caption reads as follows:
“Not the most elegant or sexy #throwbackthursday back when I had a lil’ internal bleeding (not planned) while wrestling @UFC Hall Of Famer, @kenshamrockofficial aka “The World’s Most Dangerous Man”.
I loved wrestling Kenny around the world and we had some classic matches.
AdvertisementOn this night I took a hard suplex and the impact damaged blood vessels in my lungs causing the blood to come up.
Kept composed, made sure I could breath and continued with the match.
AdvertisementI’d like to think Ken would’ve shown me some compassion, but his facial expression says “f*ck your bleeding lungs” as he tries to rip my ankle from my tibia.
These were good days and this was how I proudly made my bones.
AdvertisementAs always, “thank you for house”, brother.”
The Rock hasn't wrestled in a WWE ring since making short work of Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32 in 2016, whereas Shamrock can still be found performing under the Impact Wrestling banner. He was also notably inducted into the Impact Hall of Fame by Rock last year.
