The Undertaker looks set to make his first non-WWE wrestling appearance in a long, long time, having signed a deal to appear at the Starrcast II convention in Las Vegas this coming May.

Sports Illustrated broke this shocking news last night, including quotes from organiser Conrad Thompson, who stressed that Starrcast II is not an AEW event, and will have "wrestlers appearing from every promotion all over the world."

"The Undertaker is synonymous with wrestling and generations of fans have grown up with The Undertaker," he said. "We wanted to bring something unique to Las Vegas, and there isn't anyone more special in this business than The Undertaker."

Thompson added that 'Taker's appearance will be its own "standalone experience" at Starrcast. He expects a quick sellout when tickets for it go on sale.

Fellow WWE affiliates Jonathan Coachman, Jerry Lawler, and Ric Flair are also set to appear at the AEW-adjacent event. 'Taker's appearance is the most surprising. He is WWE's most tenured wrestler, and almost certainly a lifer with the company, but Dave Meltzer reported last week that he was taking non-WWE bookings after removing all references to the company on his social media accounts.

The Starrcast announcement, coupled with rumours that WWE have no plans for Undertaker at WrestleMania 35, will lead to all kinds of speculation. It'll be interesting to see what comes of this.
