The Undertaker vs John Cena Rematch At WWE SummerSlam 2018?
He wasn't ready!
According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, WWE are planning a rematch between The Undertaker and John Cena at SummerSlam in New York.
Alvarez stated that The Undertaker is scheduled to perform at Madison Square Garden in July, and that a rematch between the Deadman and Cena at SummerSlam, which takes place at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York on August 19th is a realistic possibility.
They last faced off at WrestleMania 34 in April with 'Taker making short work of the 16-time world champion who had been taunting and calling him out in the weeks preceding 'Mania. However, Cena recently claimed in an interview that his loss was due to his lack of preparation for The Phenom to suddenly show up and fight.
John Cena is currently busy in Hollywood and was just confirmed as the replacement for Sylvester Stallone in Jackie Chan's Action-Thriller 'Project X' but still works on a part-time basis for WWE. The Undertaker's most recent match took place at the Greatest Royal Rumble PPV at the end of April, where he defeated Rusev in a Casket Match.
Many considered the WrestleMania match between The Undertaker and John Cena to be a disappointment and even the build-up to have been mishandled. A match between the two at WWE's second biggest show of the year, with hype and an engaging storyline, would be the best way to deliver on the highly-anticipated dream match between the two legends.
