The WrestleMania XXX match pitting Undertaker against Brock Lesnar should have been a classic. The men had waged many a war against each other in the past, most of which were extraordinarily physical and violent. Unfortunately, injury struck midway through their contest in New Orleans, as The Phenom suffered a severe concussion that would later hospitalize him. He worked the match with the impairment, a match better than it had any right to be taking into account the injury. Lesnar tossed The Phenom around the ring, taking him to Suplex City. Late in the match, Undertaker mustered enough energy to catch his opponent with a Last Ride out of the corner, followed by a Tombstone piledriver, but both were kicked out of. Moments later, Lesnar delivered an F5 and the most iconic winning streak in sports and entertainment was vanquished, courtesy of The Beast Incarnate. The wrestling world sat in stunned silenced. Those in attendance were photographed with their jaws agape while WWE Network viewers questioned whether or not the referee had botched his count. No one could believe what they had just witnessed. In the end, it was that disbelief that reaffirmed just how important streak was. It helped add to the aura of The Phenom and the second it died, part of what made the character so iconic died with it.
