This AEW Wrestler Just Had His Name Changed
AEW just pulled an official name change, finally...
All Elite Wrestling has officially updated Trent?'s ring name on its official roster page.
If it wasn't already clear from how the Best Friends member has been referred to since returning to television two weeks ago, he'll now be going by Trent? Beretta going forward. This was only reflected on the roster listing a day or so ago.
The 34-year-old has his surname back.
Trent?'s ring name changes slightly every couple of years. He has gone by Trent?, Trent Barreta, Trent Beretta, Trent?, Beretta, and now Trent? Beretta at various stages in his 17-year wrestler career, having worked under just the single name for the bulk of his AEW run. Now, he has done the opposite to what might happen to him in WWE, where chopping surnames is commonplace.
Beretta returned on the 8 December episode of Dynamite, saving Chuck Taylor, Rocky Romero, and Orange Cassidy from a beatdown following a match with the Superkliq. Spinal and neck injuries had kept him out for the bulk of 2021 prior to that, though he worked his first match in eight months on the following week's Rampage, as his CHAOS unit defeated the Superkliq and Bobby Fish in an eight-man tag.
