This Top WWE Tag-Team Almost Jumped To WCW

WWE history might've been very different had this tag-team grown too frustrated.

Imagine seeing The Hardy Boyz jump off of ladders in WCW instead of the WWF/WWE.

Sounds weird, right? Well, it came close to happening. Matt Hardy admitted during an interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp that he and Jeff almost signed on the dotted line with Eric Bischoff's company in early-1998. That, for context, was before the brothers really made a splash in Vince McMahon's league.

They were getting kinda frustrated by the lack of communication and opportunities on the WWF side, and wondered if they might be better off pursuing a deal with WCW after all. Also, Matt and Jeff explored the possibilities of working for Paul Heyman over in ECW - the siblings viewed that as a way to grab McMahon's attention long-term, because they knew that he had a working relationship with Heyman.

Neither jump ended up happening.

The WWF signed The Hardys to a deal, and they eventually reinvented the wheel as part of dazzling TLC matches alongside Edge, Christian and The Dudley Boyz. Those bouts wouldn't have happened had they spurned occasional gigs in the company for a crack at WCW.

Incredible.
