This week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown suffered a major drop in overnight viewership, according to Showbuzz Daily.

After bringing in the show's highest average rating since April last week (2.261 million), the latest edition of the blue show only managed to draw 1.954 million viewers overnight. This is a substantial 16% drop from the previous week's show. Yet, SmackDown did still manage to bring home first place on the night in the ever important 18-49 demographic.

Friday's show saw one half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions Cesaro get the better of the Lucha House Party's Gran Metalik, Sasha Banks speak for the first time since her BFF Bayley turned on her, and Mr. Money in the Bank Otis being sued for beating up The Miz.

Also, the main event scene kept ticking along nicely as the recently returned Universal Champion Roman Reigns continued teasing a painful end to his cousin's first ever world title match at the upcoming Clash of Champions PPV.

Despite WWE putting together another solid and watchable episode of the Friday night blue show, fans clearly weren't in a (gold) rush to tune back into the programme after a stellar turnout the week prior.

Perhaps next week's go-home show will have more luck and benefit from those at home wanting to see Big E batter 'Larry' for another full segment. We'll have to wait another seven days to find out.
