This Wrestler Said NO To WWE Filming His Rehab
WWE chiefs wanted to document this wrestler's path to sobriety, but he said no.
WWE Hall Of Famer and routinely-outspoken podcast host Road Dogg has revealed that the company asked if they could film portions of his rehab journey around 13/14 years ago.
Dogg told fans tuning into his, 'Oh You Didn't Know?' podcast that WWE planned to do produce something similar to the process documented by ex-NFL great Brett Favre. However, the wrestler wasn't keen and told Shane McMahon: "My kids are gonna see that!".
So, the company backed off and that was that.
In retrospect, Roadie thinks he was blinded to the fact his children were watching their dad struggle at home anyway. Basically, it would've done them some good to see him take steps towards recovery. Dogg couldn't understand that at the time though - he just wanted to protect his family.
It's unclear whether or not WWE planned to produce a full-blown documentary about Road Dogg's rehab or just film a few snippets to update fans on his situation. Either way, the former New Age Outlaw wasn't into the thought from the off.
Roadie did get clean though, and he's in a much better place now than he was back then.
