This WWE Star DOESN'T Want His First Name Back
One of WWE's young stars doesn't want to follow in Matt Riddle's footsteps.
Austin Theory just wants to be called Theory.
Yes, it's true. The WWE Raw star told CBS Sports that he'd personally turn down pitches to give him back his forename on TV. In fact, 'Mr. MITB' prefers just being called by his kayfabe surname - Theory described Austin as "the throw-on", but said the Theory part is much more appealing to him.
"Theory is what I created in the backyard as a kid. I love it. Theory. It’s all we need", he added.
WWE recently began calling Matt Riddle by his full ring name on television again. That, it seemed, would open the floodgates for workers like Theory to get their own monikers back. However, as he explained during this interview, Austin doesn't want it.
That might not stop Triple H from instructing WWE's announcers to call him Austin Theory though. The young star knows that, and he's hardly going to choose this hill to die on if 'The Game' is dead set on giving him a full name.
Keep an ear out to see what happens next. If it's left up to Theory, then you won't hear "Austin" again.
