The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Shane Thorne - the high-flying half of NXT tag team TM-61 - is currently out of action with a knee injury, and will be getting surgery imminently.

Thorne's injury reportedly occurred during a match pitting TM-61 against recent rivals The Revival. A match between the teams had been hyped for the January 25 episode of NXT, but while the bout was being taped, Thorne was hurt. The match was ended prematurely, with a Revival beatdown being immediately filmed that will likely be used to explain Thorne's injury.

The past year has been rocky for TM-61, formerly The Mighty Don't Kneel (TMDK). After success in Japan, the team took part in a 2015 WWE tryout and were ultimately signed, joining the company in the early spring of 2016. Thorne and Nick Miller debuted on TV in May, but before long, it seemed like they were lost in the shuffle. Their win-loss record wasn't particularly impressive, while their crowd reaction was weak.

Still, things seemed to be turning around for the tandem, as they made it to the finals of NXT's Tag Team Tournament in November. Though they ultimately lost to The Authors of Pain, the showing raised their profile. They then entered into a feud with The Revival, which will now be postponed.
