TNA Finally On The Verge Of Announcing New TV Deal (TNA News)
TNA moving on from AXS TV as fresh questions about future of TNA+ emerge.
Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated's 'The Takedown' has reported that AMC is currently the frontrunner to snag TNA's media rights and secure a brand new TV deal with the promotion that'll kick in early next year. Indeed, AMC's own teasers for 2026 included a 15 January date when hyping that TNA wrestling is coming to the network.
This will end TNA's stay on AXS TV. It's worth noting that AMC has a much bigger reach and is available in more homes than AXS, so this must be considered a positive for those who want to see Total Nonstop Action continue to grow.
It is, however, interesting that they're heading to a completely different platform than any WWE programming is on. Many believed that WWE would help TNA broker a deal with one of their partners, but that hasn't happened. This doesn't suggest that WWE management don't care, of course. Both companies have a very positive working relationship heading into the new year.
TNA talent are likely to be informed about the deal on Tuesday afternoon. That's when the agreement could become official between TNA and AMC.
AMC's broadcast network includes core AMC, BBC America and IFC stations, but they also have streaming platforms such as AMC+, Shudder and others. The main AMC station is currently available in as many as 60 million homes across the United States, which is reportedly double the number AXS could reach.
Questions do remain about what this means for the in-house TNA+ subscription service. At time of writing, it isn't clear whether or not weekly programming would remain on the platform once this deal with AMC kicks into effect.
