Tony Khan: A Women's AEW Blood & Guts Match Would Be Great
AEW chief Tony Khan wants to make a women's-only Blood & Guts match happen.
Toni Storm's gusher on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite might be a sign of things to come for AEW's women. 'Timeless' bled heavily from the forehead following an attack by former protege Mariah May, and the pair will now collide for the Women's Title at All In London 2024.
AEW boss Tony Khan recently told the Battleground podcast that "it'd be great" to have a women's only Blood & Guts match "at some point". However, Khan also said he'd "need a lot of people tied in on the story, and a lot of healthy people" to make it work.
Tony had previously said the women's division in All Elite was "stronger than it's ever been", and he doubled down on that thought during the interview. Dynamite's climactic angle did get fans talking, and it's safe to assume Storm vs. May will be a bitter grudge bout come Wembley Stadium.
More blood could be a no-brainer.
Both Skye Blue and Willow Nightingale have passionately put forth their case to be involved in a women's Blood & Guts match before. It'd be fun to find out just how many others on the roster would be right up for getting involved.
AEW's next Blood & Guts war happens on 24 July. There, Team Elite (The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry and Hangman Page) clash with Team AEW (Swerve Strickland, The Acclaimed, Kyle O'Reilly and Mark Briscoe).
Could women be next? Tony Khan wants to see it.
