All Elite Wrestling's emergence has blown professional wrestling's labour market wide open in 2019, with the nascent promotion scooping up boatloads of unsigned talent themselves as well as inspiring WWE to not only increase their own aggression when it comes to acquisitions, but also go to greater lengths than ever before to hold onto existing contracts.

Now, finally, it looks like AEW's signing spree is over.

Speaking at Saturday's post-Fyter Fest media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan said the following (h/t Chris Van Vliet): "We're not actively out trying to sign people to fill out the roster. I don't think we need depth across the roster. I think we have a really deep, awesome roster and we have top stars, too."

That doesn't mean AEW won't considering reaching out to certain free agents, though Khan says "it would have to be something really, really captivating," adding that "if we're making moves in free agency, it's because we feel really strongly."

While the majority of wrestling's biggest free agents have already been scooped up in 2019, names like Austin Aries still stand out. Regardless, it's clear that AEW are only after wrestlers that feel right for them, and that makes all the sense in the world.
