Arguably the most talked about person in the wrestling world over the last seven days - though it is admittedly a toss-up between him, Bray Wyatt, and the host of NXT names cut loose yesterday - Adam Cole's lack of contract coming out of SummerSlam 2021 weekend has left many suggesting that the former Undisputed Era man could be playing his trade in the Land of All Elite before long.

Dave Meltzer even reported that Cole had been offered a deal by Tony Khan and the gang as recently as yesterday. However, the latest update on the situation seems to suggest otherwise.

As Meltzer himself revealed on his Twitter account, "Tony Khan said it is incorrect and he has not made an offer to Adam Cole".

As this story develops over each passing day, it has also been revealed that the one-time NXT Champion has signed a short-term extension with NXT to see him through SummerSlam weekend and his expected bout with Kyle O'Reilly at TakeOver 36. Cole was said to have met up with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon during last night's SmackDown tapings too, in what has been described as a "high level" meeting, according to Fightful Select.

We'll provide you with more updates on the entire Cole situation as and when the latest news drops.
