Tony Khan has heaped praise on former Interim AEW Women's Champion Toni Storm in comments made ahead of her Full Gear loss to new titleholder Jamie Hayter.

Speaking to Aubrey Edwards and Tony Schiavone on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, he said (h/t WrestlingInc);

"Toni Storm is just fantastic and this year, I think [she] has been one of the MVPs in all of AEW, and certainly on 'AEW Dynamite..."One of the most consistent wrestlers we've seen time in, time out, including this week, and Toni Storm always delivers."

The comments easily stand up to scrutiny too - she's been a notably excellent addition to the roster in terms of both quantity and quality this year.

Storm debuted for the company on the March 30th edition of Dynamite with a victory over The Bunny, and initially tagged with AEW Women's Champion Thunder Rosa before taking the belt and mantle in an Interim capacity when Rosa went down injured earlier this year. She secured the title itself in a four-way battle with Hayter, Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida at All Out 2022 and has worked every single week since then.

In her time as Champion, she defeated Penelope Ford, Serena Deeb, Athena, Emi Sakura, Hikaru Shida, Diamante and Anna Jay AS.
