Tony Khan On MJF & Britt Baker's AEW Futures
AEW president offered comments on former AEW World Champions.
Tony Khan has opened up on the status and futures of former AEW World Champions MJF and Britt Baker during a recent interview.
The founder, co-owner, president, and CEO of All Elite Wrestling provided comments on arguably the company's two most notable current absentees, following questions about the futures of both during an interview with Sports Grid (h/t EWrestlingNews).
He said on former AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF;
“It’s something to keep an eye on with MJF. He’s a great wrestler for AEW and has been a great world champion. He was very injured and I would love to have MJF back anytime and we’ll see what happens here.”
On former Women's World Champion Britt Baker, he noted;
“Britt Baker’s been out. She was injured and there’s a lot of times we have a lot of great wrestlers out injured. So I think this year will be great, not only for the great free agents, but also for some of the stars that have been side-lined coming back.”
Baker last wrestled on the September 16th 2023 edition of Collision, and hasn't been used in any major capacity since then, and had initially taken to X to note her apparent frustrations with not being used before there was public mention of any injuries. Meanwhile, MJF last appeared on screen at AEW's World's End pay-per-view in December. 'The Salt Of The Earth' lost the AEW Championship to Samoa Joe and has been written off television as part of a storyline with The Undisputed Kingdom and/or a continuation of his 'Bidding War Of 2024' contract story.
