Following a one-off appearance for the company at May's Double or Nothing PPV - appearing as the Joker in the men's Casino Battle Royale - it appears that Tony Khan is working on having Lio Rush return to AEW at some point down the line.

Taking to Twitter, the AEW President detailed how he's been talking to Rush "a lot recently" about returning to AEW.

If you remember, that aforementioned Double or Nothing appearance unfortunately ended with a serious shoulder injury for Lio. Shortly after the PPV, Rush announced he was going to be retiring from the business once his contractual agreements with NJPW were up.

The Man of the Hour has been back in action over the past several weeks, most recently teaming with Juice Robinson, Chris Dickenson and Brody King to take on (and beat) Tom Lawlor's Team Filthy at NJPW Strong's Summer Struggle on 27 August.

Still only 26 years of age, the extremely talented Lio Rush surely has a bright future in the wrestling world should he wish to remain in the business. And if Tony Khan gets his way, seemingly that future will be in AEW.
