Having signed with All Elite Wrestling in August 2019, Schiavone initially penned a two-year deal to serve as a commentator and senior producer for Tony Khan's promotion. Now, the former voice of WCW has explained how an extension has been triggered to keep him with AEW through to mid-2024 - with this news coming at a time when the contracts of several AEW originals are believed to be coming up.

As alluded to, prior to arriving in AEW, Schiavone had last been seen in the wrestling business on a regular basis back when WCW was around. The Virginia native was on the call for World Championship Wrestling from 1990 up until the company was assimilated by Vince McMahon's then-WWF in 2001.

Before that, Tony worked for Jim Crockett Promotions from 1983 - 1989, then did a year in WWF ahead of signing with WCW. After WCW went out of business, Schiavone appeared on two NWA-TNA shows in 2003, before working some dates for Court Bauer's MLW from 2017 until 2019.
