Members of NJPW's United Empire faction invaded last night's episode of AEW Dynamite, taking what could be the first steps towards a potential inter-promotional match for the upcoming Forbidden Door pay-per-view (Sunday 26 June).

New Japan alumni Roppongi Vice were facing AEW full-timers and current ROH/AAA World Tag Team Champions FTR on Dynamite. A hard-hitting, competitive bout ended in a rare disqualification when United Empire's Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb hit the ring mid-bout, prompting the referee to call for the bell as they beat Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler up.

This was the first time O-Khan had appeared on AEW television. Cobb, meanwhile, has previously featured as Chris Jericho's bounty hunter, wrestling Jon Moxley as part of the former AEW World Champion's feud with Jericho heading into Revolution 2020.

O-Khan and Cobb recently had a 22-day spell as IWGP Tag Team Champions, with their short run on top ending when Bullet Club's Bad Luck Fale and Chase Owens triumphed in a Wrestling Dontaku 2022 three-way on 1 May.

AEW and NJPW are yet to confirm any matches for Forbidden Door, which will be the two promotions' first collaborative show since forging their working relationship in early 2021.
