Top WWE Star "Buried The Hatchet" Backstage With CM Punk
This feud may/may not make it in front of WWE cameras, but it was important to heal old wounds.
The Miz has revealed that he "buried the hatchet" with CM Punk backstage before the shock arrival made his mark on-screen again. That wasn't something Miz thought he'd ever have to do, because he was just as surprised anyone else to see Punk behind the curtain on a WWE show.
Miz told 'Unlikely' that he was "walking down the stairs" backstage at Survivor Series 2023 when he locked eyes on his former rival. There was old heat between the pair, but they got talking and had "a really good conversation". All reports since Punk's return suggest he's been keen to patch up old wounds and move forwards.
Punk previously appeared on WWE's old Backstage talk show pre-AEW run, but only interacted with members of the roster who also worked those tapings. The Miz hadn't run into Punk since he left the promotion behind in 2014. He also didn't go into extreme details on exactly why they had lingering heat.
Perhaps Miz was just p*ssed Punk had walked out and badmouthed his employer for years. Whatever the case, everything's fine between both guys now. They're in a good place, and Miz is excited to see what Punk can bring to WWE in the future.
