Triple H Appointed WWE Head Of Talent Relations
Yes, that WAS John Laurinaitis' old role...
Paul 'Triple H' Levesque has been reappointed WWE's Head of Talent Relations, a role he had previously held with the promotion.
This was announced via a short press release from the company. Titled "Paul 'Triple H' Levesque Is Back", it reads:-
07/22/2022 STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- WWE® (NYSE: WWE) today announced that effective immediately, Paul Levesque will resume his executive position as EVP, Talent Relations. “I look forward to returning to my prior position as head of Talent Relations. I’m healthy, fired up, and ready to take charge,” said Levesque.
Levesque previously held the position of Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development in WWE, though serious heart failure forced him to take time away in September 2021. It was recently reported that although he'd declared himself "back" during a visit to the Performance Center, he wasn't necessarily involved in the NXT brand he helped father.
John Laurinaitis had served as WWE's Head of Talent Relations since March 2021. His implication into the ongoing Vince McMahon "hush" money scandal led to the company putting him on leave in June, with no word of when, if ever, he would return.
The original Wall Street Journal report into McMahon's alleged misconduct stated that the ex-employee Vince paid a reported $3 million following an extramarital affair was given to Laurinaitis "like a toy" at once stage. WWE's Board of Directors is currently investigating the allegations.
McMahon, meanwhile, has stepped down as WWE Chairman and CEO - at least in the interim. His daughter, Stephanie, has assumed those roles.
