Triple H Changes Longstanding WWE Policy On SmackDown

Logan Paul helped change WWE policy; changes will kick in after WrestleMania 40.

Logan Paul announced on SmackDown that his Prime energy drink's logo would grace the mat for WWE PLEs from WrestleMania 40 onwards.

Naturally, this announcement was greeted with boos from the live audience there for Friday's show, but it's bigger than just one LP heel promo. Previously, old WWE boss Vince McMahon was dead set against splashing his canvas with advertising/company branding.

McMahon lieutenant Bruce Prichard was very candid about that via his 'Something To Wrestle With' podcast over the years - Vince didn't like what WCW did in the 1990s by adorning the mat with brands like Snickers, for example. He wanted WWF/WWE rings to have a cleaner look overall.

Triple H has changed that policy.

Paul's Prime brand could start a snowball effect for the promotion that sees various company's come onboard to sponsor the canvas, turnbuckles, ring posts and more. WWE has already flashed up some branding on the LED boards that attach to the ring aprons, so maybe this was the next natural step.

It does represent Triple H's new philosophy though. It'd also be interesting to find out just how much input TKO had as a whole on this decision.
