Triple H & Vince McMahon In Conflict Over Recent NXT Call-Ups?

A strange situation is brewing between WWE's Chairman and his heir apparent.

Four of NXT's biggest names arrived on WWE's main roster in the coldest way imaginable this week, with Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Ricochet, and Aleister Black debuting on Raw and SmackDown to little fanfare, though the performers excelled against established opposition in the ring.

The quartet came up with a jarring suddenness, and per WWE insider Brad Shepard on his Oh, You Didn't Know podcast, Vince McMahon did this on purpose.

Shepard claims that the WWE Chairman is sceptical of guys like Gargano and Ciampa making the jump from developmental to the main roster. There is what he calls a "weird dynamic" between Vince and Triple H, with 'The Game' hyping said wrestlers up, leading to McMahon attempting to prove his son-in-law wrong by throwing said wrestlers in at the deep end.

That's why this week's call-ups debuted the way they did; because Vince wanted to see if they'd sink or swim.

An odd situation, as said wrestlers should, theoretically, be the future of McMahon's talent roster. Nonetheless, all four performers worked out of their skin on Monday and Tuesday night. Their debuts were cold, but they did everything in their power to make a name for themselves.
