Olympic Gold medalist and UFC fighter Henry Cejudo dropped a bomb today saying that had he not signed with the UFC, he'd likely have ended up in the WWE. According to Cejudo in an interview with MMA Junkie, WWE showed major interest in him. "It was something that was actually in the works. One of their talent scouts saw me, met me and wanted to bring me in for an audition or whatnot. They had reached out to me and wanted to get a feel of it," Cejudo said. Cejudo didn't rule out a potential switch to pro wrestling however, saying "I've always watched WWE ever since I was a little kid. But mixed martial arts right now is my No. 1 priority. Maybe WWE in the future, but as of now I'm sticking straight to the UFC and my fighting career. It might be worth trying it out some day, but as of right now, I solely train and think about mixed martial arts." These claims come out of left field as Cejudo doesn't have anywhere near the size WWE typically looks for in a star. While his fantastic wrestling background surely would have done him favors, most 5'4 pro wrestlers aren't typically booked as strong mat technicians. Being only 27, he has plenty of time to make the move if he ever decided to try the transition. Cejudo is currently 6-0 as a pro fighter and will take on longtime UFC fighter Scott Jorgensen at UFC 177 on August 30.
