UFC's 10 Most Dramatic Fight Finishes
10. Jorge Masvidal Vs. Ben Askren
Let's start with the unpredictable nature of drama, shall we?
Coming into their UFC 239 clash, Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren had both earned decent victories. Masvidal had put away the young Scouse prodigy, Darren Till, whereas Ben Askren had controversially submitted Robbie Lawler - even though the latter bounced straight up after being announced as out cold.
The stage was set for both of these hungry Welterweights to fight for a victory that could set up a potential title shot.
Masvidal was seen as the favourite coming into the bout as he possessed a more well rounded skill-set, yet no one could have predicted what would happen as soon as the bell rang.
Sprinting out of the blocks at break-neck speed, Masvidal flew at Askren with a knee sent from the gods. It caught all the fans in the arena and - more importantly, Askren - off guard.
A record 0.05 KO established Masvidal as a genuinely Bad Motherf*cka and he's now set to fight for that title against Nate Diaz at Madison Square Garden.
Watching it back now, it's still ridiculous to see this kind of move attempted straight out of the blocks, yet it made for one of the most dramatic moments in recent Octagon history.
