From Marco Polo on Netflix to Alien: Covenant, up-and-coming Australian actor Uli Latukefu has landed a variety of roles over the course of his career, but perhaps his biggest to date came when he was cast as Dwayne Johnson in his college years on Young Rock.

Since premiering last month on NBC, Young Rock has reenacted Johnson's journey at three different points in his life. Viewers have only so far seen some of what Latukefu will be involved in, but it's been established that he'll be portraying The Great One during his time spent on the gridiron and everything else he experienced in his early adulthood.

Latukefu was of course already extremely familiar with Rock upon being cast for the show as he grew up a fan of his work in wrestling as well as his early acting roles. Speaking with him over Zoom for the first time and realizing they had very similar struggles and humble beginnings made the role that much easier for him to play.

Ahead of Young Rock's return to its Tuesday night time slot on NBC this week, Latukefu spoke with WhatCulture about feedback and reactions to his role on the show, his interactions with Dwayne, his WWE fandom, how long it took him to nail the People's Eyebrow, and more...
