Update On Injury Keeping AEW's Thunder Rosa Out Of Action
La Mera Mera is set for a spell on the sidelines.
Last night's AEW Dynamite saw Thunder Rosa make the emotional announcement that she's dealing with an unspecified injury issue that is keeping her out of in-ring action. Now, there's an update on what exactly said injury problem Rosa is dealing with right now.
As per the ever reliable Mike Johnson over at PWInsider.com, the injury that's forced La Mera Mera onto the sidelines is said to be an issue with a disc in her back. Rosa had been trying to work though this injury, although the issue clearly worsened enough to force the hugely talented star to step away from the squared circle for a spell.
In terms of how long Thunder Rosa will be out of action, that's not yet known. Of course, here's hoping that it's not too long before we see the one-time NWA Women's World Champion cleared to compete again, and she'll for sure be on a collision course with whoever becomes the interim AEW Women's Champion in her absence.
For those who missed it, in addition to last night's AEW Dynamite seeing Rosa reveal she won't be able to compete at All Out, that news was immediately followed up by the announcement that Hikaru Shida, Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter and Toni Storm - Rosa's original All Out opponent - will do battle at that PPV in a four-way affair to crown an interim Women's Champion.
Emanating from Chicago's Now Arena, All Out takes place on Sunday 4 September.
