Update On Jon Moxley's Concussion Status Following Forbidden Door
Clarity on Moxley's quip that he was "probably concussed" following the AEW X NJPW show.
Despite suggesting as much in a promo cut after the pay-per-view had gone off the air, Jon Moxley did not suffer a concussion at AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door on Sunday.
The new Interim AEW World Champion took the microphone following the show, making several points for the live crowd, though one specific line stood out. "I don't even know where I'm going with this, I'm probably concussed, bleeding and sh*t", Moxley said, appearing disorientated.
Said promo quickly made its way to Twitter after the show:-

It appears, however, that Mox's off-the-cuff remark was no more than just that. Dave Meltzer notes in the latest Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online Daily Update that Moxley has confirmed he is "fine" following his blood-soaked victory over NJPW legend Hiroshi Tanahashi, conceding that he probably shouldn't have said the line about being concussed.
This will come as considerable relief for anyone invested in All Elite Wrestling, which is in the midst of a worsening injury crisis. With the likes of Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Kenny Omega, Jungle Boy, and more sidelined, the promotion would currently be experiencing a personnel shortage if not for its large talent roster.
