Update On Lio Rush's WWE Future, Backstage Heat
Move back to NXT mooted.
Bobby Lashley cut a lonely figure on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, as he appeared on MizTV sans batman Lio Rush - and promptly struggled his way through his promo.
Lashley was similarly solo during a dark match post last week's show, with rumours suggesting that his pitch guy Rush is currently in WWE's doghouse.
According to The Wrestling Observer, the issue seems to stem from Rush's disproportionate ego. The undeniably talented high-flyer is said to believe he should be one of the top superstars on Raw, and that his overt over-confidence has began to wind people up behind the scenes.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider yesterday reported that there are discussions underway within the company to bring Rush back to NXT, though this has yet to be confirmed.
Rush has accrued something of a history of grievances since joining WWE in 2017. The then-NXT superstar was widely chastised for appearing to mock Tenille 'Emma' Dashwood upon her release in October 2017, and has subsequently caused repeated backstage stirs for an apparent ignorance of locker-room etiquette.
Though Rush was probably right to reject the archaic tradition of junior members of the roster acting as lackeys for senior colleagues, it nevertheless didn't aid his popularity - and pointed in the direction of the extreme confidence which has most recently landed him in hot water.
