Austin Aries has been sidelined since suffering a fractured orbital bone while wrestling Shinsuke Nakamura on an NXT house show back in October. That hasn't kept the self-proclaimed Greatest Man That Ever Lived out of the spotlight, however, and he has been active as a colour commentator and interviewer on 205 Live since the brand's launch.

If this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter is to be believed, however, Aries is set to swap the announce booth for the squared circle. Aries has reportedly been medically cleared to return to the ring, and WWE are considering the idea of him wrestling Neville for the Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania 33.

The plans haven't been locked-in yet, and there's no word on when Aries will make his in-ring return, but it's an exciting proposition. The division has suffered from a lack of attention-grabbing matches since the Cruiserweight Classic, but as two of the most well-rounded performers on the roster, Neville and Aries should provide just that.

The duo have close to 30 years' experience between them, but they've never fought each other. As well as his in-ring ability, Aries' natural charisma should help bring a jolt of intrigue to the Cruiserweight division, particularly if he works alongside the soaring Neville.
