Update On WWE Main Roster Talent Going To NXT
Latest details on WWE wrestlers crossing over from Raw and SmackDown to NXT.
WWE's recent trend of having Raw and SmackDown personnel appear on NXT looks set to continue.
Fightful Select has reported as much, noting sources citing benefits to NXT, including the opportunity for talent brought down from the main roster to evaluate the people they are working with and potentially determine how ready they are for Raw or SmackDown life.
There is also a perceived experience benefit to younger wrestlers working with more tenured counterparts. One of the outlet's sources, meanwhile, pointed to NXT's recent television ratings, which have been solid, when speaking about the matter.
Recent weeks have seen the likes of The Brawling Brutes, Sonya Deville, Nikki A.S.H., and Doudrop work NXT spots. On a more substantial level, Dolph Ziggler moved down to developmental to work a full NXT Championship program with Bron Breakker earlier this year.
NXT recently underwent a soft relaunch on Wednesday nights, dropping the "2.0" from its branding and the multi-coloured aesthetics adopted in a Vince McMahon developmental revamp in September 2021. While black and gold are back on the colour palette, the content of the shows are largely unchanged from the NXT 2.0 days, despite Triple H's ascent to creative lead.
