Update On WWE's Search For SummerSlam 2020 Venue
Has WWE managed to find a boat, beach, dingy, or paddling pool for its Biggest Show of the Summer?
With WWE seemingly adamant to do something, anything, other than another empty arena show for this year’s SummerSlam PPV, now comes a further update on what could be on the table for the Biggest Show of the Summer.
As per the ever-reliable @WrestleVotes, WWE is currently doing what it can to have SummerSlam take place in the Northeast corner of the USA at an outdoor location where a limited number of fans would be able to attend.
The reported status of things right now, is that WWE officials have yet to find a state that would be okay with hosting such an event. Y’know, what with the ongoing global bastard (Adam Wilbourn™) still running wild and causing all kinds of chaos.
Only this morning, there were rumblings and speculation that SummerSlam could be held on a boat or at a beach, and Vince McMahon is said to be intent on having SummerSlam be as outrageous and crazy as possible.
Originally, the 2020 edition of WWE SummerSlam was to be held at Boston’s TD Garden, but that is obviously now not possible.
If WWE is unable to find somewhere willing to host whatever crazed plans Vinny Mac has in mind for SummerSlam, the sports entertainment juggernaut would again be looking at the very real prospect of holding one of its biggest shows of the year in the confines of the empty WWE Performance Center – ala WrestleMania 36.
SummerSlam is due to take place on August 23, with confirmed card right now seeing Randy Orton vs. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, and Angel Garza and Andrade vs. WWE Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits.
