WWE Champion Bobby Lashley finally answered Goldberg's SummerSlam 2021 challenge on last night's Raw, with the match now official for the 21 August pay-per-view.
Goldberg returned to Raw two weeks ago, throwing down the gauntlet in a confrontation with Lashley and manager MVP. Upset, the heels declined to answer. This continued last week, when Lashley entertained former Hurt Business stablemates Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin but not Goldberg, setting up the WCW legend's return last night.
The duo's show-opening segment featured promos from both before Goldberg left, having once again failed to secure a concrete answer. When MVP and Lashley got into it with Bill's son, Gage, who was ringside, Goldberg returned, smashed MVP with a spear, and took his leave.
Lashley was incensed when interviewer Kevin Patrick caught up with him later in the night. While MVP winced in pain, Bobby finally accepted the challenge, making the match official.
Nothing else was announced for SummerSlam last night.
