The controversial former NXT favourite is using his Instagram page to rally support for an unlikely comeback soon. Clark, who earned rave reviews for his work as the Velveteen Dream, was released in May 2021 (following five months on the sidelines) amidst allegations of inappropriate communications with underage boys and girls.

These allegations claimed that Clark sent sexually explicit images, but WWE found no evidence of wrongdoing when conducting their own internal investigation. Despite that, the company decided to cut Dream free, and he hasn't wrestled since.

In fact, Velveteen's last match was vs. Adam Cole on the 23 December 2020 edition of NXT.

Clark believes he's due another chance in the promotion. In March, he posted the following message on his Instagram stories: "Despite trashy and unsavory allegations against me that I have beat! I’d still like to have a career with the E. @wwenxt I was never guilty and I got a hell of a lot of talent".

It surely remains unlikely that Triple H/WWE would re-sign Dream at this point.
