The WWEs resident superhero, John Cena, was absolutely destroyed at last months SummerSlam pay-per-view. The match was a one-sided mauling as Brock Lesnar dominated Cena and left with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Since that time, theres been some internal fear within the company that Cenas reputation was damaged. Maybe Lesnar was booked too strongly in the bout. However, shortly following SummerSlam, John Cena returned to his equally dominant ways. Hes come out on top in nearly every battle since the PPV -- most notably running through the entire Wyatt Family a few weeks ago. Apparently -- and somewhat not surprisingly -- Cenas return to dominance is all due to WWEs Chairman and CEO, Vince McMahon. Reportedly, McMahon has made it abundantly clear to the creative team that Cena must be booked strongly from here on out. The Chairman doesnt want Cenas fans to give up on him and think he is a lost cause. Supposedly, the intention of the SummerSlam match with Brock was to make Lesnar look like a beast, while Cena came across as having a strong spirit after never giving up. Unfortunately, it didnt work, and Cena simply looked overpowered and outperformed. Now, McMahon is on the case, ensuring that the 15-time World Champion does not falter in the wake of his crushing defeat. Reportedly, the decision to have Cena run through the Wyatt Family without much of a problem was all McMahons. Several other backstage figures apparently tried to convince McMahon that it was the wrong decision, however, Vince wouldnt budge. With McMahons insistence that Cena be booked so strongly, what does this mean for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship rematch at Night of Champions? Will the CEO insist that Cena put up more of a fight against Lesnar, or worse yet, will he defeat the Best Incarnate? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
