During a recent interview with Metro UK, Kofi Kingston has discussed how Vince McMahon will never allow the New Day to turn heel.

Ahead of challenging Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at tonight's Money in the Bank PPV, Kingston explained:

"You have to be able to provide the evidence, you have to make your case. 'Okay, why do you wanna change what's working so well for me and making me so much money?' 'Oh, we just wanna yell at kids, Vince.' No, he's not gonna let us do it. So, it's a fantasy, but I dunno... I don't think it'll ever happen again, unfortunately."

Prior to this, Kofi had talked about how the New Day "fantasize" about becoming villains once more; explaining how the most fun he's had in his career was getting to yell at children during the New Day trio's time as heels.

It's hard to imagine it these days, but the New Day turned heel in early 2016 in response to the "New Day Sucks!" chants that were being thrown at the three-man group. While the whole New Day act wasn't connecting with fans in the way that WWE officials had clearly intended, Kofi, Xavier Woods and Big E took that negative crowd response and ran with it.

Nowadays, the New Day - whether as a duo or a trio - are still regularly amongst the highest merchandise movers in the entire WWE. As such, any such heel turn would be Vince McMahon shooting himself in the foot.
