WALTER returned to WWE NXT for the first time in over a year last night, reuniting with Imperium stablemates Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner after the former's match with Tommaso Ciampa.
Hitting the ring to take care of Ciampa after the match, WALTER watched as the former NXT Champion attempted to fight Aichner and Barthel off, before getting his hands dirty himself. A trademark chop and stiff powerbomb were all it took for the NXT UK Champion to lay Tommaso out.
It looks like WALTER and Ciampa will be feuding going forward. On top of this angle, Ciampa has mentioned the Imperium leader in recent promos, calling him out for hiding in the UK as the other group members attempted to recruit him. On top of this, Ciampa intimated that he took Alexander Wolfe out in an unseen backstage assault last night.
The global health crisis had left WALTER rooted in Europe while his stablemates competed in the United States. He worked only eight televised bouts for WWE in 2020, with his last match on American soil going down at Worlds Collide on 25 January 2020.
WALTER has been NXT UK Champion for 713 days at the time of writing.
