There's some bad news doing the rounds concerning recent AEW returnee Wardlow.

Fightful Select is reporting that the big man may have suffered another injury whilst returning at Forbidden Door 2025, but they haven't been able to confirm that just yet. However, sources behind the scenes in the company told the website that "the injury is feared to be a torn pectoral muscle". If true, that's a huge blow to the returning powerhouse.

Wardlow was just coming back from around a year on the bench after healing up from various injuries. He'd been filming multiple seasons of American Gladiators in the interim and appeared to be healthy, so this is a giant setback for him and frankly comes at the worst time possible.

At Forbidden Door, Wardlow burst back into view by attacking Prince Nana and various members of All Elite security following Kazuchika Okada vs. Swerve Strickland for the AEW Unified Title. It appeared that Wardlow joined forces with Don Callis and troops during the pay-per-view, but Tony Khan might not get the chance to properly develop that story on television going forwards.

Fightful did report that there's a chance Wardlow "could remain on TV in an enforcer role" whilst rehabbing this latest injury. They also noted that numerous talents they talked to behind the scenes "were bummed out about the news" - everyone knows how hard Wardlow has worked to overcome his recent sabbatical and get back to 100% again.

If he has suffered a torn pec as expected, then it'll be a while before Wardlow is cleared to work matches on AEW TV or PPV. Right now, it never rains but it pours for the big guy. Fingers crossed he heals up ASAP and can get his All Elite career moving in the right direction again.
